Coaching at Cardross
The coaching program at Cardross forms an integral part of our Club with the focus being on value for money, learning and most importantly enjoyment for all.
The coaching from January 2017 will also allow the club to raise some much needed funds for the court renewal project so we would ask all members to come along, improve your game and play a key part in the club’s ongoing development.
The club runs coaching classes for all ages of players, from tots to adults, and caters for all standards. Please see the timetable below and the links to book for Adults & Juniors underneath.
Cardross has a team of very well regarded coaches to read about them click here

Yellow 6-8pm Tuesdays – book here
Yellow Ball represents the final stage in the junior tennis journey and the first step on the lifelong journey of trying to master the game of tennis. Juniors will, at this 1 hour class, develop the skills they have learned in Mini Tennis and add in some matchplay and more technical/tactical coaching to speed their development. As always the focus is on fun and social interaction but with a leaning towards the Pathway 2 Performance coaching should the children wish it. The club has also provided a free 1 hour coach led Matchplay session in line with the latest LTA research telling us that increased court time has a hugely positive impact on the development of any skills, tennis in particular. This will start at 7pm immediately following the coaching class at 6pm.
Yellow Pathway 2 Performance Sundays 4.30pm – book here
This is a new class designed specifically on the feedback from members and for juniors who wish to see quick progression in both their technique and their matchplay. LTA Performance Coach John Wilson will be running these 90 minute classes at Cardross. Each junior will receive technical guidance on each stroke, fitness and footwork patterns, then 30 mins of matchplay where tactical advice will be given and the opportunity to see how the technical changes can benefit your overall game. There will also be the opportunity in the future to train with and play with Yellow P2P players from other local clubs through the P2P program. IF SPACES AVAILABLE, YOU WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE FREE MATCHPLAY SESSION ON TUESDAYS AT 7PM.
Adult Technical 6pm Sundays – book here

P.S. Please don’t take the name of the course literally. We can’t fix your printer or your laptop as well as your forehand……
Adult Tactical 7pm Sundays – book here
Purely based on member feedback the one thing we get asked for more than anything is tactical awareness especially for doubles partnerships. Many of us try our best but simply lack the knowledge or experience to enable us to improve our matchplay or indeed recognise what we are doing during a game and changing it to alter the outcome.
We are therefore delighted to release this 4 week block, best attended with your usual doubles partner but not compulsory, which will assess the individual partnerships style of play and be able to offer tactical advice as to how they can improve their chances of success .
This will often involve an explanation of the different tactical styles and where you should be standing based on the shots either your partner or opponents could hit. This 1 hour class will be run by LTA Performance Coach John Wilson but the lights will stay on (free of charge!) for a further 30 minutes matchplay to try out the tactics learned.
